Technical Program Manager

Reporting & Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position reports to the Vice President, Engineering.
  • This position does/does not have supervisory responsibility.

Key Job Elements

  • Leads product development projects (for new products and product variants) through all phases of the Genesis new product development (phase/gate) process. Ensures project deliverables are properly completed per process and adequately documented.
  • Prepares project plans each including a detailed schedule, product cost estimate, and development cost estimate. Obtains buy-in and approval of the plans from cross-functional project team. Present the plans to the executive staff.
  • Leads cross-functional team to execute project plans. Hold team members accountable and drives projects to meet the agreed upon targets, which include the release date, product cost, development cost. Make adjustments and re-plans as necessary to achieve the targets. 
  • Demonstrate effective interdepartmental communication skills and communication to executive staff through, meetings, emails and “face to face” dialogue and presentations. Demonstrate effective direct communication methods with project team members and their managers.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Minimum) MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred)

Experience

  • 8+ years automotive industry experience, with time spent working in one or more engineering discipline. (Mechanical, Electrical, Software or Application)

Position Type, Schedule and Travel

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
