Production Quality Engineer

Reporting & Supervisory Responsibility

Key Job Elements

  • Provides Quality leadership, technical problem-solving, and subject matter expertise within designated production work cells by 1) providing daily process support for quality related issues, 2) identifying trends in process performance (P-PPM) using statistical methods, 3) identifying scrap trends and utilizing this data to identify opportunities for process and product improvement, 4) leading continuous improvement activities in order to improve process and product performance, and 5) auditing processes for compliance to ISO/TS standards.
  • Utilizing the G8D methodology, leads Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action activities related to product and process nonconformance's reported by internal and external customers.
  • Coordinates efforts of the organization to identify nonconforming material and prevent its recurrence by:
  1. Studying the scrap shelf to differentiate between "trend" and "trickle"
  2. Facilitating the MRB process and dispositioning products
  • Continually seeks to accomplish the mission and improve the organization by:
  1. Displaying a no-excuse can-do attitude
  2. Providing a superior level of customer service by exceeding internal customer expectations
  3. Staying aware of developments in quality knowledge and tools in the quality industry
  4. Spreading the message of Quality and Organizational Excellence throughout the organization
  5. Mentor and develop team members
  6. Building coalitions and relationships among internal customers and employees within the organization
  7. Displays professional integrity and adheres to the ASQ Code of Ethics

Qualifications

Education

  • BS in Engineering is required

Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a Quality or related roll

Skills

  • Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience with Mini-Tab preferred
  • Experience supporting ISO, TS, CSA, and/or UL 
  • Professional Certification(s)

Position Type, Schedule and Travel

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
