Engineering Technician

Reporting & Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position reports to the Manager, Engineering Test Lab.
  • This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Key Job Elements

  • Create and fabricate test stands, jigs and fixtures as needed to perform product testing
  • Instrument parts for data collection using thermocouples, pressure sensors, accelerometers, etc.
  • Analyze parts and assemblies under test for potential failures or weak areas
  • Document test procedures and results in an accurate and professional manner
  • Assist in building prototype units for Engineering
  • Help maintain the Engineering Lab through cleaning, organizing and continuous  improvement projects

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates degree or some advanced education in a technical field preferred

Experience

  • 3+ years hands-on mechanical or electronic technician experience preferred
  • Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in an experimental or prototype testing environment

Position Type, Schedule and Travel

This is a full-time position with minimal travel.  Work schedule is typically 8 hour days, Monday through Friday, starting between 6:30 – 8:30 a.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
