Program Manager- IoT

Reporting & Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position reports to the Director, IoT.
  • This position may have supervisory responsibility.

Key Job Elements

  • Manage OptaFleet U.S. – execute development and production programs
  • Technical Interface – “first line” of technical discussion with customers and internal Engineering groups helping to understand requirements and manage bi-directional communication
    • Act as a liaison between customer and internal groups by building deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers
  • Grow the Business! – Explore business opportunities with current customers and potential adjacencies to new products and markets
    • Contribute to developing global service, production pricing and customer strategies
    • Gather and assess customer-level technology and competitor market information
  • Leads cross-functional team to execute project plans. Hold team members accountable and drives projects to meet the agreed upon targets, which include the release date, product cost, development cost. Adjust and re-plan as necessary to achieve the targets. 
  • Develop customer program timing. Track and report program status to plan
  • Identify and rectify roadblocks for successful program completion
  • Demonstrate effective interdepartmental communication skills and communication to executive staff through, meetings, emails and “face to face” dialogue and presentations. Demonstrate effective direct communication methods with project team members and their managers

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field


  • 10+ years technical experience
  • Minimum three to five years performing engineering program, product or business plan development and execution. Strong knowledge and experience with engine
  • IoT experience required (i.e. project management, previous developer role)
  • Experience with fleet management systems required
  • Experience working with or selling to dealer and OEM Level customers
  • Demonstrated experience with relationship building
  • Demonstrated experience in business and/or technical negotiations
  • Strong technical and consultative sales experience
  • Project/program management experience with large, complex technical programs
  • Strong, effective communication skills, Self-Starter, Independent thinker but a team player
  • Fluent in English and ability to effectively communicate with non-native English speakers
  • Forklift fleet management experience preferred
  • Experience with engine controls systems a plus

Position Type, Schedule and Travel

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Initial travel up to 60%; long-term travel requirements anticipated 30% international and domestic travel. International travel predominantly in Western Europe to include Netherlands, Italy and France with occasional lengths up to two (2) weeks
