Director, Manufacturing Engineering

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a hands-on leader for the Manufacturing Engineering Team which supports production of current products and new product introductions.
  • Utilizes mechanical assembly expertise to guide and mentor Manufacturing Engineering team to implement poke yoke assembly methods in order to increase quality, productivity and reduce costs of manufacturing.
  • Works closely with design engineering to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability.
  • Review tooling and assembly fixture designs in order to ensure safety, quality, and repeatability.
  • Define and implement programming, test, and manufacturing best practices and scalable processes including Standard Work, Visual Factory, 5S, OEE, TPM, and automated programming and test
  • Develop robust manufacturing processes and test methods for new products using PPAP tools such as Process Flows, PFMEA, Control Plans, and MSAs.
  • Define Manufacturing Engineering Strategy in support of Company and Operations goals in order to ensure that the Manufacturing Engineering team possesses the right alignment and skills to meet evolving manufacturing needs.

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering required, Masters preferred
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience; tool design experience
  • 5+ years of engineering management experience
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and TS 16949 quality specifications
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt Preferred)
  • Experience in electronics and mechanical assembly
  • Must have the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment of small to mid-sized growing company that is engineering driven
  • Experience in a heavily driven R&D company where the competitive advantage is engineered solutions.
  • Proven track record of developing engineers
  • Product and application knowledge of engines and fuel management is a plus
